Crafton Officer Charged In Fatal Hit & Run

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― A Crafton police officer has been charged in a fatal hit and run accident.

Donnie Breeden, 38, is accused of hitting 24-year-old David Hall near the Duquesne Incline on West Carson Street on July 20, 2007.

Hall was walking back to the sidewalk after talking to a bus driver when he was hit.

Breeden, a 15-year veteran on the Crafton police force, allegedly struck the victim with his Chevy Trailblazer, left the scene and didn't call for help.

Homicide detectives got a break in the case when they received a tip that led them to Breeden.

The officer turned himself in and is now in the Allegheny County Jail charged with one count each of involuntary manslaughter and accidents involving death or personal injury.
