Woman Out Of Hospital After Hampton Crash

HAMPTON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― A woman was released from the hospital Thursday after her car ended up over a hillside in Hampton Township yesterday.

The accident happened on Route 8 near the Home Depot.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time and it may not be known for a while.

One theory is that the crash could be related to a recent massive recall by Toyota for floor-mats that cause the accelerator to become stuck.

That has not been confirmed in this case.

According to the driver of the car, the vehicle's accelerator became stuck.

Linda Geyer, from Gibsonia, reportedly honked her horn as she drove through the parking lot to the back of the property.

Officials say the car crashed into some trees and a guardrail before coming to a rest on a tree stump.

She was conscious and alert.
