Giant Eagle Applies For Liquor Licenses

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― It could soon get easier for shoppers to pick up their bread, milk and beer all in the same location.

Giant Eagle wants to give more shoppers that chance at some of its local stores.

The company has applied for liquor licenses at stores in Monroeville, Homestead, West Mifflin and West View.

Giant Eagle already applied for licenses at its Pine Township store and one under construction in Robinson.

The plan is to sell six-packs of beer from cafés inside the grocery stores.

Reaction to the plan is mixed.
