Giant Eagle In Lawrenceville To Close

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―

Officials with the Giant Eagle in Lawrenceville have decided to close the business early next month.

Owner Bill Bricker has operated the store since September 2003, but has decided to close the store due to financial reasons.

Officials say the store located on Plummer Street will cease operations at close of business on Saturday, August 2.

There are nearby Giant Eagle locations for the Lawrenceville customers affected by the closure. Those locations are the nearby Shadyside Market District, Shakespeare Street Giant Eagle and the Cedar Avenue Giant Eagle.

Officials say all of the 40 team members from the Lawrenceville Giant Eagle will have the opportunity to be considered for work at those other area Giant Eagle locations.
