Pine Twp. Giant Eagle Wants To Sell Beer

PINE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― The Giant Eagle in Pine Township would like to sell beer.

Attorneys for the grocery store say an application has been submitted to the Liquor Control Board.

They would like to sell individual bottles or cans of beer and as many as two six-packs to go from the restaurant section of the store.

Some customers like the idea, but other people are against it, including Wexford Beer, a beer distributor a mile from the Giant Eagle.

They say if Giant Eagle is allowed to sell beer, it would hurt their business.

The Pine Township store is the second to go before the Liquor Control Board for a license to sell beer.
