A community in Butler County is living without heat.
It's not because they didn't pay their bills. They say it's because of the man they're paying.
Several homeowners on Cornetta Road in Fenelton, Butler County, are cold and they're down right hot about it.
"It's very, very frustrating. My children have not been sleeping in my home. And here it is Christmas week and my kids aren't with me and it's very, very frustrating because they go to school, they come home, we take them to my parents' house to sleep," Kris Fetter said. "We sleep with space heaters on."
Frustration is an understatement.
"We're cold. I have been able to have some warm water to take a shower fortunately, but I don't know how long that's going to last," Fetter added. "We're concerned our pipes are going to burst."
They say their gas bills are paid but their problem is with the Herman Oil and Gas Company.
"He admitted to me he has not paid the bill to his supplier," Fetter said.
Mark Smith owns the company and runs it out of his home. But he was no where to be found. His company phone was always busy and his pager was not in service.
According to his customers, this isn't the first time they've had this problem. It happens every year.
"If he cannot manage his company properly, he should get out of business," C.J. Infantino said.
"I understand the gentleman has problems, but there's got to be some legal ramifications to this," said Pam Zola. "I pay my bill on time every month and I don't have heat. He needs to do something. It was four degrees, what if my pipes freeze? What do I do?"
