Brownsville Man Allegedly Ran Over Wife

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) ― State police have arrested a Brownsville man in the hit and run death of his wife over the weekend in Menallen Township.

Ronald Higinbotham, 44, turned himself in this morning to face criminal homicide charges.

Police say Higinbotham hit and ran over his wife, Carmen Higinbotham, 30, late Saturday night; then went home, called police and said he thought he ran over his wife.

He later told police that he and his wife had been arguing in the car and she hit him two times.

The accident happened just before midnight Saturday on Business Route 40, east of the Searights Crossroads.

Police aren't yet saying if or how alcohol may have been involved. They say the Higinbothams had marital problems in the past.

Ronald Higinbotham was arraigned today in Uniontown.

He was then expected to be placed in the Fayette County prison without bond.
