Trial Continues For Teen Charged In Clerk's Death

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The trial continues today for the North Carolina teenager, who is accused of shooting and killing a deli clerk in Mt. Oliver last year.

Eric Hancock, now 17, is facing charges in the August 2007 death of Jamal Mouzaffar, a native of Syria.

KDKA's Harold Hayes reports that prosecutors are set to play a taped confession today in court.

On Tuesday, surveillance video from inside the A&E Deli on the day of the robbery was played for the judge.

The video shows a robber, wearing a mask and hood, enter the store and demand money.

Hancock is accused of shooting Mouzaffar in the chest. After the shooting, the video also shows the robber rummaging through the store and trying to open a lottery box.

Officials say Mouzaffar's body was discovered by a regular customer a short time after the robber left.

The non-jury trial is expected to wrap-up later this week.
