EMT Collapses, Dies While Responding To Accident

DUQUESNE (KDKA) ― The head of Duquesne's emergency response unit has died after officials say he collapsed at the scene of a crash Sunday evening.

The three-vehicle accident happened just before 8 p.m. on Route 837.

Officials say both police and emergency crews, including 77-year-old Harry Moore, responded to the scene.

Authorities report that Moore, of Duquesne's emergency response unit, collapsed while walking to the accident.

He was taken to Braddock Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, according to the Medical Examiner's Office.

The two people injured in the crash were taken to area hospitals. Officials say their injuries were not life-threatening.

The Allegheny County Police Department is investigating the entire incident.
