Homicide Charges Filed In Wilkinsburg Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
The man accused in connection with the shooting that killed a boy in Wilkinsburg last month is now facing new charges including third-degree murder.
KDKA's Bob Allen reports that Donald Wilson, 19, is now facing one count of criminal homicide, one count of involuntary manslaughter, six counts of aggravated assault, six counts of recklessly endangering another person and other weapons violations.
Wilson was set to appear in court this morning for a preliminary hearing on initial charges filed against him.
He was arrested and charged last month in connection with a shooting back in April that left 12-year-old Kholen Germany dead.
Germany was fatally shot along Wood Street last month. Police say he was not the intended target of the shooting.
Police say, after the shooting, Wilson ran around the corner from the scene and jumped into a silver four-door sedan.
According to investigators, a witness later identified him as one of the gunman who fired shots.
However, police say Germany died from shots fired from a .40-caliber handgun. Officials add that Wilson was using a 9mm.
Authorities say they are charging Wilson with criminal homicide because he allegedly started the act that resulted in Germany's death.
Wilson was being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
Police are still looking for a second gunman in the case.
