A State Police helicopter from Altoona is helping in the search for a missing family in Derry Township.
Rescue crews began their search after two adults and two children were reported missing at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
The manager of the Ridge Maple Hunt Club near the search area tells KDKA the family went out for a walk in an area called "The Ridge."
"It's really rough, rocky, thick," Derry Boro Police Sgt. James Friscarella said. "The Ridge was recently - I believe was recently timbered so there's a lot of overgrowth, laurel, jagger bushes so ... difficult to search."
Fire departments from all over have brought ATVs to help with the search.
"But we have a lot of crews up there right now. This is a multi-jurisdictional search party. We have crews from every corner from Westmoreland County up there looking for her right now," he added.
The State Police helicopter has thermal imaging equipment.
