Local Daycare Worker Had Prior Run-Ins with Police

WEXFORD (KDKA) ― There is new information about a 19-year-old daycare worker in Wexford who allegedly made a drug deal on the job.

The KDKA Investigators have learned Kelsey Lansaw had several run-ins with police – one for theft, illegal purchase of alcohol and a traffic violation.

Investigators are taking a closer look at the Forever Young Daycare Center in Wexford where Lansaw worked.

"Whether or not any children have been harmed by this individual in care given that it's being alleged there were controlled substances on her person while she was there and whether or not the children were placed in harm because they were unsupervised at the time," Stacey Witalec, from the Pa. Department of Public Welfare, said.

Lansaw is accused of leaving the children unattended while she sold drugs to undercover officers.

She has been fired from her job.

The Department of Public Welfare says the daycare center has only had minor violations in the past that they fixed quickly.

The operator of the facility did not want to comment.
