Steelers Release Dallas Baker, Promote Cornerback

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Steelers have announced the promotion of rookie cornerback Roy Lewis to their active roster.

Lewis was originally signed by the Steelers as an undrafted rookie free agent from the University of Washington but was waived after training camp.

Lewis spent the first 10 weeks of the season on the Steelers' practice squad.

To make room on the roster for Lewis, the team released wide receiver Dallas Baker, the Steelers' 7th round pick out of Florida from the 2007 NFL Draft.

Baker made the team's active roster in this year after spending the 2007 season on the team's practice squad.

This season, Baker played in eight games and had one catch for six yards.
