Defense Rests Without Witnesses In Wecht Trial

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Closing arguments will be heard on Monday in the federal corruption trial of Dr. Cyril Wecht.

This follows a surprising move by Wecht's attorney.

He rested his case Tuesday without ever calling any witnesses.

The prosecution called its final six witnesses Tuesday morning before resting its case.

Dr. Wecht is standing trial on charges he used his public office as Allegheny County Coroner for private gain.

Stay with KDKA for coverage of the Wecht Trial.
