Wecht Trial Enters Another Day Of Testimony

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The fraud trial of former Allegheny County Coroner Dr. Cyril Wecht continues today.

Wecht is facing federal charges for allegedly using his public office for his own private practice.

In court on Wednesday, prosecutors claimed that, among other things, Wecht's former administrative assistant used a county fax machine to bill Wecht's personal clients.

However, defense attorneys claim sending those faxes cost the county less than $4 over a four-year period.

Prosecutors said it's not the cost of those faxes, but rather how much money Wecht received from the invoices that were faxed.
