Elderly Man Charged With Making Counterfeit Money

NORMALVILLE (KDKA) ― A 78-year-old Normalville man is in the Fayette County Prison charged with making and selling fake money in the basement of his home.

Wayne Prinkey was arraigned before Judge Ronald Haggerty in Connellsville this morning.

State police say Prinkey had been making the money over a six month period.

They say the counterfeit money was being spent at businesses in the Connellsville area.

Prinkey is being held on $100,000 bond.

His preliminary hearing is set for April 9.
