Arena Construction Workers Pose With Stanley Cup

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Workers at the site of the future Consol Energy Center had a special treat.

Officials with the Penguins brought the Stanley Cup to the site, allowing workers to get up close to the championship hardware.

Many of them posed for pictures with the cup and some of them even hoisted it.

The arena is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010 in time for the start of the 2010-11 NHL season.

It will seat more than 18,000 fans, have luxury boxes and state of the art facilities.

It will also be an environmentally friendly building.

The Penguins have said the building's on time, on schedule and on budget.
