Rep. John Murtha Dies At 77

ARLINGTON, Va. (KDKA) ― Congressman John. P Murtha died Monday afternoon at an Arlington Va. hospital.

Murtha, 77, was surrounded by family members at his bedside in his final moments.

He was first elected to the United States House of Representatives in 1974, becoming the first Vietnam War combat veteran elected to Congress.

On Saturday Feb. 6, Murtha became the longest serving member of Congress from Pennsylvania.
