Idlewild Park Celebrates Christmas In July

LIGONIER (KDKA) ― It may be July, but Santa Claus is taking a break from his summer vacation to spread a little holiday cheer at Idlewild Park.

It's all part of the "For Kid's Sake" event, "A Story Book Christmas In July," going on at the park.

The holiday celebration is set up in Story Book Forest where childhood is eternal and imagination is king.

Events include a Parade of Trees, meeting KDKA personalities who will be signing autographs and taking pictures all week and a new brand new attraction.

"It's called 'Big Foot's Mudslide,'" says park spokesperson, Jeff Croushore. "It's a fun slide for kids and adults and it's located in the jungle area of the park. It's great fun."

The event runs from July 14 to 18.
