Elderly Woman Attacked After Bingo Win

BUTLER TWP (KDKA) ― Police are looking for the person who attacked an elderly woman in Butler County after she hit the jackpot at a local bingo hall.

The 75-year-old woman won the jackpot at the Highfield bingo hall in Butler Township earlier this week.

When she got to her house about a block away, someone attacked her – beating her in the head, face and neck in an attempt to steal her winnings.

The woman suffered facial injuries and cuts to her head; but she is recovering.

A friend says the woman is very strong and will get through this ordeal; but her family adds that she is understandably afraid.

The suspect is described only as a man about 5'10" who was wearing dark clothing at the time.
