Police Ask For Public's Help In Double Murder

BEAVER FALLS (KDKA) ― Beaver Falls Police continue to search for leads in a double murder.

Richard and Demetria Harper, both 32, were discovered shot to death in the basement of their home in the 800-block of Second Avenue.

Their two young daughters, ages 10 and 8, were apparently home during the shootings.

Detectives say it could be days before any arrests are made. They believe the shooters were two men wearing masks and gloves.

Investigators think the Harpers were targeted, but police have not revealed a possible motive.

"Just see them coming and going. And not saying they're a bad family or nothing like that and they seemed like pretty decent people pretty much to themselves but who's to say - you never know anymore," Noble Miles, a neighbor, said.

"Been rough - for the kids especially," Dennis Bensing, a neighbor, said. "Two great people. I mean I didn't know them that well, never bothered anybody you know."

Police say because they have so little information and vague descriptions of the shooters, they need the public's help.

Anyone with information is asked to call Beaver Falls Police.
