Bluhm Signs Deal To Work With Barden On Casino

(KDKA) The deal between Don Barden and Chicago billionaire, Neil Bluhm, to work together on the development of Pittsburgh's slots casino has been signed.

This morning, it was announced that Bluhm signed an agreement to purchase 75 percent of equity in the North Shore casino.

It now gives his investment group controlling interest in the casino.

However, the deal between Barden and Bluhm must still be approved by the Gaming Control Board, but it is facing some opposition from state lawmakers.

In the meantime, Bluhm has reassured the City Planning Commission that amenities attached to the casino project will not be postponed.

He says an amphitheater on the riverfront and boat slips would be available at the casino's opening.
