Authorities have released a woman from the Allegheny County Jail who falsely reported that a Barack Obama supporter attacked her.
Ashley Todd agreed to enter a probation program for first-time offenders.
The former McCain campaign volunteer claimed to have been robbed and assaulted by a man who disliked her McCain bumper sticker.
On Thursday, a judge ruled that Todd was competent to stand trial.
Todd will be staying with a relative in New York between now and January when her next court appearance is scheduled.
