Civil Rights Leader Arthur Edmunds Dies

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― A local civil rights leader, who headed the Urban League of Pittsburgh, has died.

He also advocated for fairness and equality in employment and health services.

Edmunds died today of cancer at Forbes Hospice.

He was 86 years old.

Edmunds is survived by his wife, Gladys Baynes Edmunds, four children and several grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Arthur J. Edmunds Endowed Scholarship at Fisk University.
