Crews Battle House Fire In Aliquippa

ALIQUIPPA (KDKA) ― A mother and her four children are homeless after a fire destroyed their Aliquippa home last evening.

Firefighters got the call just before eleven o'clock Friday night.

They say an addition on the back of the house made it difficult to get water to the flames.

Apparently the fire began in the kitchen.

The house suffered major damage.

"There was some grease on the stove that burned up the kitchen pretty good," said Aliquippa Fire Chief Dave Foringer. "Then, it extended up through a pipe chase, up through the roof of the second floor, did some damage to all three floors of the structure."

The Hopewell Township Fire Department assisted in putting down the fire.

No one was injured.
