Larry On The Job: Penguins 'Ice Team'
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
For his last assignment, KDKA's Larry Richert tested his sweet tooth at the Sarris chocolate factory, but this time around he's joining the Pittsburgh Penguins 'Ice Team.'
Larry says he always dreamed of being part of the National Hockey League and he was finally able to reach his goal with his hometown team.
But Larry does say he had to take on manual labor like shoveling, moving nets and making sure the goalies had water bottles.
He also got to take a break from his hard work and hitched a ride on Mellon Arena's Zamboni.
And Larry says he thinks, maybe, in small way his hard work at that game might have had something to do with the Penguin's come-from-behind three goal third period victory.
Even Penguins star Colby Armstrong said he noticed something was different about the ice.
"I saw the one shovel there was pretty good," Armstrong said. "It was picking up a lot of snow. I could really notice the difference. I don't know what it was; I could slide a little better out there."
