Slain Mt. Oliver Suspect Had Long Rap Sheet
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
There are new developments in the fatal shooting of a suspect in Mt. Oliver by Pittsburgh Police.
The KDKA Investigators have learned Justin Jackson, 19, had an extensive criminal history dating back to when he was 12 years old.
As a juvenile, Jackson was arrested at least a dozen times. The charges included assault, aggravated assault, assault with a deadly weapon and armed robbery.
As a 15-year-old, Jackson was accused of committing an armed robbery involving a woman that he robbed in an underground T-station.
Last April, he and his mother were charged in an incident at a home in the West End. According to police records, Jackson was choking a 13-year-old boy.
Relatives of the victim asked him to stop, but that's when he pulled up his t-shirt displaying a concealed handgun, according to police reports. He pulled the handgun out of his waistband and hit the boy with the weapon, splitting his ear.
According to police reports, Jackson's mother, Anna, arrived at the scene and removed the gun from the scene to an unknown location. She was later arrested for that, along with her son. Charges were later dropped.
Yesterday, members from a local church prayed with Jackson's parents at the scene of Tuesday's shooting on Arlington Avenue.
Both of Jackson's parents admit their son had problems but both have said they believed he turned his life around.
