Former Strip District Night Spot Moves Down River

STRIP DISTRICT (KDKA) ― Driven by bankruptcy and bad debts, the Boardwalk took a ride down the river.

The restaurant has been closed for months and its owners and their landlords, the Buncher Company, have been haggling over a delinquent rent bill of more than $150,000.

According to court documents, the two sides are close to some kind of settlement, part of which entailed either the Boardwalk being sold or having the owner, River Entertainment, move it away at their own expense.

That's apparently what happened today. The restaurant moved down the Allegheny River and under the Roberto Clemente Bridge bound for new digs somewhere down the Ohio River.

It's unclear if it will reopen somewhere else. The Buncher Company apparently has other plans for its riverfront property.
