Local Singer Finalist In Miley Cyrus Competition

VOTE: Miley Cyrus' "Be A Star" Singing Competition

NEW KENSINGTON (KDKA) ― Hannah Montana, the pop star with the rhyming name - whose real name is Miley Cyrus - has a legion of fans.

But 16-year-old Amy Colalella hopes to move from the audience to the stage. The New Kensington singer has reached the final four of the Miley Cyrus "Be a Star" competition.

"It goes to this which is the 'Web Event of the Year' they're calling it and the final four will be tonight," she said.

Amy's video, is one of four entries nationwide, airing tonight on the Miley Cyrus website. Then viewers may vote for their favorite.

"The winner gets a record deal and voice lessons from Miley," Amy says. "And I'm guessing that they will get to record with her so it's like a huge opportunity."

She has 50 songs on her YouTube site, with 12,000 subscribers.

Amy still goes over chords and lines with her song writing father, Gabe Colalella. She recently started home schooling while pursuing a music career. But she was still a student at Plum High School when her mom got word that she'd made the top 50, out of 5,000 entrants.

Tonight at 9 p.m: the Final Four.
