The Night Before Christmas In Pittsburgh

A Poem By Dave Crawley

(KDKA) This holiday season, KDKA's Dave Crawley used his poetic prowess to pen what's sure to become a new holiday classic (with a Pittsburgh twist)!

The Night Before Christmas in Pittsburgh
By Dave Crawley

'Tis the night before Christmas, and Pittsburgh's a-glow,
With bright lights reflected on new-fallen snow.
The tree in Point Park has a blanket of white.
From Homewood to Homestead, it's Santa's big night.

And listen! Those sleigh bells, up high in the sky!
It's the one night a year that reindeer can fly.
From Oakmont to Oakdale, the sleigh rushes on -
From the cold Allegheny, to banks of the Mon.

Up over Heinz Field on a mid-winter track.
Is a Super Bowl trophy in Santa's big sack?

The Oglebay Lights are a-glow in the west.
In Westmoreland, this season was Overly's best.

Mount Lebanon children are snug in their beds,
As Delmont kids dream of new Barbies and sleds.
Black and gold stockings are hung up with care,
And we've left some pierogies for Santa to share.

Just one final wish,
as you snuggle up tight:
"Merry Christmas to all,
and a Pittsburgh good night!"
