Retailers Offering Black Friday Deals Early

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Traditional Black Friday is still a month away, but that's not stopping some retailers from offering deep discounts early.

Consumer Reports says that about 65 percent of Americans are planning to spend less this holiday season.

Sears is among the stores offering Black Friday deals this Friday.

"Getting the jump on it, getting the word out saying these are what our sales are going to be come in and get it now," Chelsie Damico, a spokesperson for Sears, said.

Consumer Reports reasons that if you're going to be spending less, the retailers are going to come out with their deals sooner to try and be your shopping choice.

"Huge competition – there's going to be a lot of special offers," Damico said.

Retailers believe consumers will be holding on to their money.

"They're going to be cutting back not just on gift giving, but on travel and entertainment as well," Tightwad Tod from Consumer Reports said.

To find the latest deals, check your mail and newspaper ads.

When you shop, arrive early because the best specials have limited quantities.
