Blood Banks Begin Offering Perks To Donors

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Some organizations are offering perks to blood donors to add incentive to give.

The Central Blood Bank has come up with a rewards program.

When donors give, they get points to buy gift cards and merchandise through the blood bank.

For example, giving three times a year could get you a $15 gift card from Primanti Bros.

The blood bank will track your blood pressure and basic cholesterol when you give at least two times a year.

Finding donors has become a problem with cancer, heart disease and other medical problems excluding older donors and tattoos and piercings leaving out younger donors.
