State Health Dept. Holds H1N1 Vaccine Clinics

Officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Health are trying to fight the spread of H1N1 flu by holding vaccination clinics this weekend.
Four sites have been designated in Allegheny County, while many others have been set up statewide.
The clinics are free and are only open to people in priority groups:

People six months to 24 years old
-
Pregnant women
-
Individuals who live with or care for kids younger than six months
-
Health care providers and EMS personnel
-
People under 65 years of age with underlying health conditions
The
clinics in Allegheny County will be held from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21 at the following locations:
Chartiers Valley High School
50 Thoms Run Rd.
Collier, Pa.
McKeesport High School
1960 Eden Park Blvd.
McKeesport, Pa.
North Allegheny High School
10375 Perry Highway
McCandless, Pa.
Schenley High School (formerly Reizenstein Middle School)
129 Denniston Ave.
Pittsburgh, Pa. (East Liberty)
Outside of Allegheny County,
locations have also been set up in six community health districts.
The ones in our area fall under the Northwest Community Health District and the Southwest Community Heath District.
Northwest Community Health District:
Clinic 1: Mercer County State Health Center

This clinic covers Lawrence Mercer, Crawford and Venango counties.
Clinic 2: Intermediate Unit #6

Clarion, Pa. 16214
This clinic covers Forest, Clarion, Jefferson and Clearfield counties.
Southwest Community Heath District:
Clinic 1: Richland Township Fire Department

This clinic covers Cambria, Somerset and Indiana counties.
Clinic 2: Mon Valley State Health Center

This clinic covers Fayette, Greene Washington and Westmoreland counties.
Clinic 3: Butler County State Health Center

This clinic covers Butler, Armstrong and Beaver counties.
These clinics will also be held from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21, as well as
Friday, Nov. 20, and Sunday, Nov. 22 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Officials say appointments must be scheduled to get the vaccine. They can be made at
H1N1inPA.com at any time or by calling 1-877-PA HEALTH (1-877-724-3258) between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Those planning to get the vaccine need to fill out a consent form, they are available at the
health department's website.
