The Fayette County Coroner has confirmed the first H1N1 flu-related death in Fayette County.
The coroner will only say the victim was a woman who died earlier this month.
That woman is the fifth local person to die from complications from H1N1 flu.
In September, 45-year-old Deborah Spangler of Renfrew, Butler County, became the first local H1N1 flu victim.
A few weeks later, a 27-year-old man from Allegheny County died. His name was never revealed.
In October, 17-year-old Misty Cricks, from Morgantown, W. Va. became the first local teenager to die from H1N1.
And just a few days later, a 50-year-old man from Allegheny County died. His identity has not been revealed.
