More Possible H1N1 Flu Cases At Local School

County Health Dept. Confirmed 1 Case Last Week

MCCANDLESS (KDKA) ― Two more people at a local middle school are likely infected with the H1N1 virus or swine flu.

The student and a teacher are part of the North Allegheny School District.

They became sick last weekend.

Last week, a student at Carson Middle School was diagnosed with the virus.

The health department believes the worst is already over.

Carson is the only school in Allegheny County with reported cases of the flu.

At this point, the district does not plan on closing the school.

There are now seven confirmed cases locally in Allegheny, Mercer and Westmoreland Counties.

There are 106 confirmed cases state-wide and more the 6,700 nationwide.
