Heinz Red Zone: Fried Ravioli with Tomato & Basil
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
Each week in the Heinz Red Zone on The PNC Hines Ward Show, Rania Harris puts together some great recipes that are sure to make your tailgating party a hit.
This week, she's making Fried Ravioli with Tomato and Basil Sauce!
Fried Ravioli with Tomato and Basil Sauce
1 cup plain breadcrumbs
½ cup Parmesan cheese
24 cheese ravioli
2/3 cup evaporated milk
4 cups vegetable oil (for frying the ravioli)
1 jar Classico Spicy Tomato and Basil Sauce
DIRECTIONS:
Combine the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
Dip each ravioli in milk, then toss in the breadcrumb and cheese mixture to cover completely. Heat the oil to 365 degrees in a deep fryer. Drop the ravioli into the oil, a few at a time, and fry for 2 minutes or until golden.
Drain them on paper towels.
Heat the Classico Spicy Tomato and Basil Sauce in a medium saucepan.
Serve the fried ravioli hot with the Classico Tomato Basil Sauce.
Serves: 8 as an appetizer
