Heinz Red Zone Recipe: Kicked Up Corn Dogs

VIDEO:  Watch The Hines Ward Show Online

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Each week in the Heinz Red Zone on The PNC Hines Ward Show, Rania Harris puts together some great recipes that are sure to make your tailgating party a hit.

This week, she's making Kicked Up Corn Dogs.

Kicked Up Corn Dogs
8 all beef hot dogs
16 ounce package corn muffin mix
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
¼ cup butter – melted
1¼ cups milk
2 eggs
Pinch of salt

Condiments:
Heinz ketchup
Heinz Spicy Brown Mustard
Heinz Chili Sauce
Nacho Cheese Sauce

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine the corn muffin mix, cayenne pepper, melted butter, eggs and salt. Whisk the mixture until smooth.

Dip the hot dogs into the batter and cover them with batter, trying to coat the entire hot dog with the batter. Lay them on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake them for about 25 minutes or until the coating is golden brown.

Carefully insert a wooden skewer in one end of the corn dog and serve hot with desired condiments.

Serves: 8
