Steelers Huddle: Slow Cooker Hawaiian Pork

Each Saturday on the PNC Steelers Huddle Show, Rania Harris puts together some great recipes that are sure to make your tailgating party a hit.
Slow Cooker Hawaiian Pork
1 cup chopped onion
3 pound pork roast, trimmed
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup water
¾ cup Heinz Ketchup
3 tablespoons Heinz Red Wine Vinegar
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon Heinz Spicy Brown Mustard
Coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 15-ounce can pineapple chunks, drained
4 cups hot cooked rice
Directions:
1. Place onion in bottom of slow cooker. Place pork on top of onion. Spread garlic over pork.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together water, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, mustard, black pepper and salt. Pour mixture over pork.
3. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
4. 30 minutes before the end of the cooking time, carefully remove lid and add in the drained pineapple chunks. Continue to cook for the final 30 minutes.
5. Slice pork crosswise into thin slices and serve with onions, pineapple and sauce over the hot rice.
Serves: 4 - 6
