Thousands Come Out For Three Rivers Regatta

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The annual Three Rivers Regatta over the Fourth of July weekend is a wrap for another year, but organizers say they were pleased with the event.

The Regatta ended Sunday evening and crews began packing and clean-up.

According to Three Rivers Regatta organizers, an estimated 500,000 people came out to this year's event over the course of the holiday weekend.

It included lots of great festival foods and activities like a tightrope walk high above the Allegheny River Friday evening, concerts and the traditional powerboat races Saturday.

Organizers estimate more than 300,000 people gathered on Saturday night in downtown for the Regatta's main event, the fireworks show put on this year by Pyrotechnico.
