Weigh In On Patriots' Spygate Scandal

May 8, 2008 - The 2002 AFC Championship game between the Steelers and the Patriots is now at the center of the New England Spygate scandal.

Tapes sent to the NFL allegedly show that New England videotaped some of their opponents' coaching signals, including the game where the Pats beat the Steelers 24-17.   Read the Full Story Now

Pats Should Have To Sit Out Post-Season

When they catch college teams violating league rules they prevent them from participating in the post season activities.  I think the Pats should be forced to sit out the next five post seasons regardless of their record as well as giving up their 1st round draft picks for the next 5 years.  And not be eligible to trade any team for a 1st round pick.  Money is nothing to these guys so you need to hit them where it counts, their talent.  Of course this won't happen because all the other teams that haven't been caught yet won't vote for it.

Not OK To Cheat "Just A Little"

To me this is a form of cheating, and if proven to be true, they should be stripped any games or titles won through such actions.  The Olympics take back medals, boxing takes back titles, why not football also? I don't think that we want to teach our kids that it is okay to cheat 'just a little'.

Forfeit all Super Bowls and suspend Belichick for as long as the cheating has been going on - some 10 years.

Rewarded For Cheating

I feel they should be punished harder than they were, I mean they lost a 32 pick but had a #7 pick so what did they lose.The Steelers have the 2nd hardest schedule in 08-09 and the Pats that cheated have the 2nd easiest.  Come on lets get real,with the schedule they have and the weapons they should be AFC contenders again.  I guess the NFL is showing our kids that you get rewarded for cheating,just pay a little fine and we will give you an easy schedule.  Once Spygate came out, I knew the Steelers had been cheated - just look at all the playoff games we lost and AFC championships.  It was just like they had an answer for everything we did.  But back on topic I feel they should be banned from playing for 1 year,lose all draft picks when they come back, and just like baseball steroids scandal have asterisks put in front of wins, and Super Bowls.  You can't take back the trophies I guess but you can say that we are not sure if they earned them.

I think that EVERY game that was won by the Pats, by using recorded coaches' calls, should be counted as a loss.

Waste Of Time

I think what they got is good enough, what happened so many years ago is over and the players have to win the game on the field anyway. I am disappointed in Arlen Specter wasting efforts on this when the price of gas is over $3.60 a gallon, I think he should focus on something that is happening know and effects everyone!
