Country singer Sara Evans claims her husband moved money from a joint checking account into a personal account in Oregon the same day she filed for divorce.
The claim was in a motion filed in court in Nashville yesterday, saying Craig Schelske moved more than a quarter million dollars, despite a restraining order forbidding it.
Evans filed for divorce on Thursday, claiming Schelske committed adultery, was verbally and emotionally abusive, drank excessively and frequently watched pornography in their home. Schelske denies the allegations.
The singer reportedly alleged in divorce papers that Schelske had an affair with Alison Clinton, a woman who says she served as Evans' nanny several years ago.
On Monday, Clinton denied the allegations.
"I am crushed. I thought Sara was my friend. I have never been anything but loyal to her and her family. I cannot understand this, but now I am forced clear my name in order to preserve the best possible future for me and my family," she said in a statement. Clinton has hired an attorney to prosecute her interests.
Evans' attorney, John Hollins Jr., told The Tennessean that among funds Schelske took was money in a joint tithing account that contained more than 66,000 dollars.
Evans announced on Thursday she was quitting ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" competition to focus on her family.
John Hollins Jr., Evans' attorney, says Evans is "doing as well as could be expected under the circumstances," and is concerned about her three children. ABC will do an interview with her that will air on Tuesday night's edition of "Dancing With The Stars."
