Crowe Films Movie Scenes At Allegheny County Jail

A director's chair on the Pittsburgh set of the Russell Crowe movie, "The Next Three Days."

Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe has come to Pittsburgh for the filming of his latest project.
Crowe is visiting the Allegheny County Jail today where he is filming scenes for his latest project, a new movie titled "The Next Three Days."
Film crews are using the jail lobby, the visitors' center and outside of the facility.
"I came here to do some research before I wrote it," said Paul Haggis, the director and writer of the film. "So, I wrote it for Pittsburgh, which is great to do because then you can use the actual locales and I got to do the research here at the jail. It's a wonderful town, and really I didn't know what to expect."
Family visits both today and Friday have been cancelled.
But Crowe is just the latest actor to bring a little bit of Hollywood to Pittsburgh.
Oscar-winning actor Denzel Washington and Oscar-nominee Jake Gyllenhaal are filming movies here, too.
Washington is shooting an action film called "Unstoppable," while Gyllenhaal is filming the romantic comedy "Love and Other Drugs" co-staring Anne Hathaway.
