Music Fest Bringing Big Name Music Acts To Town

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― Thousands of people are expected to flock to Pittsburgh's South Side today and Saturday for the New American Music Union Festival.

The concert is sold out and some big name music acts are performing including Bob Dylan, Gnarls Barkley, The Raconteurs and The Roots.

Concert officials say 10,000 tickets have been sold for both days of the festival.

Ten different bands are set to perform on the on the main stage, which is set up on 26th Street and Sidney Street on the South Side.

The music starts tonight at 6:30 p.m. ending with The Roots, and then kicks off again Saturday at 3:45 p.m. Dylan will take the stage around 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Officials also say there will be a second stage where 15 different college bands will be competing for a recording session in Los Angeles. That competition starts at 11 a.m. and is free to the public.

Also, officials say parking will be available at four different garages at $5 a car and spaces will also be open at the Mellon Arena lot and a shuttle will take those concertgoers to the South Side for the show. The shuttle runs from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday in to Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday into Sunday.

And if you want to ride your bicycle, crews will offer valet service and store you bike during the show.
