The Wovel - Does It Really Do That?
Does It Really Do That? All month long, KDKA Consumer Editor Yvonne Zanos will be putting products to the test to see if they live up to all the hype.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
The Wovel promises to make getting rid of the snowy, frozen mess outside less of a back-breaking chore.
But does it really do that?
KDKA Consumer Editor Yvonne Zanos put the Wovel to the test.
When it comes to getting rid of snow, Gateway Center maintenance man Gary Thompson has it made, at work anyway, but at home, he faces the same back breaking job as the rest of us.
Thompson agreed to help us see if the Wovel really does what it says.
Rick Brown, of Bethel Park, put the Wovel together last year. But when it came time to test it there just wasn't enough snow.
Now after our latest winter blast there was finally enough of the white stuff to find out if the Wovel really does do that.
Thompson says the Wovel is relatively easy to use because of the wheel.
The instructions say the faster you go the more you move the snow. And when necessary, dumping the snow can be done by pushing down on the handle in a see-saw motion.
The more Thompson used the Wovel, the more he says he liked it.
"Number one, the wheel factor takes most of the weight off the snow when you are plowing through. Number two, it takes tension off your hands and arms," says Thompson. "The wheel here does the majority of the work."
Clearing a driveway goes as fast as you can walk.
However, there are a couple of don'ts. They say don't walk into anything, don't use it on slush, don't use it on ice, and don't use it on hard packed snow.
So the verdict is in on the Wovel, and it is a resounding yes it does really do that!
