Hercules Hooks - Does It Really Do That?

Does It Really Do That? All month long, KDKA Consumer Editor Yvonne Zanos will be putting products to the test to see if they live up to all the hype.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ― The Hercules Hook promises to make hanging pictures a breeze.

But does it really do that?

KDKA Consumer Editor Yvonne Zanos put Hercules Hooks to the test.

The product claims to be the world's revolutionary wall hanger.

It says it'll hang pictures, mirrors and shelves up to 150 pounds.

We had no trouble hanging pictures.

No problems hanging large mirrors either.

For ten hooks and another bonus ten, we paid $14.99 plus another $10.93 for shipping and handling.

That comes out to about $1.50 a piece.

"It's more expensive than a nail," said our tester, Delia Cole. "But for the convenience of just being able to put it in the wall, hang a picture and being able to walk away and having it done in five minutes, I would say definitely worth it."

But does the Hercules Hook really do all it promises -- up to 150 lbs.

We went to Alexander's Gym in North Strabane to find out.

It easily holds 10, 25 and even 45 pounds but when we tried 90 pounds the hook bent.

The hook may have held if we had spread out the weight or used more than one hook.

So in the end, the verdict on Hercules Hooks is an overall yes, it really does do that -- at least on normal picture and mirror hanging.
