Does It Really Do That: H2O Mop

(KDKA) The H2O Mop may be expensive, but claims to steam clean both hardwood floors and carpets with no chemicals.

But does it really do that? KDKA's Consumer Editor Yvonne Zanos and one local woman tested the H2O Mop to find out whether it delivers on its promises.

The H2O Mop costs about $100, plus $20 for shipping and handling. It comes with two micromitts that cover the base mop and can be washed and reused. The directions call for the cylinder on the mop to be filled with water and say the mop should be plugged in.

Our tester, Nickie Manning, from Mt. Lebanon, says she loves the way the mop angles, but adds that it takes some force to move it around. She also says she agrees with the products claims that floors dry almost immediately.

Zanos reports that the mop worked great on our tester's Pergo floor in the kitchen.

They say the mop also picked up a lot of dirt, bends to fit under furniture and doesn't leave a lot of streaks on the floors.

But when it comes to getting out tough carpet stains like coffee, our tester says she gives the product a thumbs down.

However, our tester gave the H2O Mop an overall thumbs up.

"I think I would buy it because I'm really trying to go chemical free," she said. "So I do think I'd buy it because it did all the floors."
