Does It Really Do That: Go Duster
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―
A new product claims to make dusting a breeze.
The "Go Duster" promises to make dusting easier but does it really do that?
KDKA's Yvonne Zanos and Jessie Miranda of "Got It Maid Cleaning Company" put the Go Duster to the test.
The Go Duster goes together easily enough.
We put in four AA batteries (not included) and gave it a whirl.
We found that there's no question that the Go Duster gets the dust going but it went everywhere when we tried it on a lampshade.
Miranda said a vacuum would be a better tool to get the job done.
But the Go Duster comes with a special spray to trap the dust.
We sprayed it before we tried to clean vinyl blinds.
"That's better," said Miranda but she quickly added, "I am not terribly impressed."
It took the dust off the top of the pictures too in our test but Miranda still was not impressed.
"I think it is more trouble than taking a rag and doing it," she said.
Miranda owns a very similar tool called a high duster.
It does not have battery power but it costs just $6, not $20 like the Go Duster and it even does the job.
We do love the way the Go Duster tackles hard to reach places like in between the petals and leaves of plants and in all hard to reach places.
"It's perfect for something like that," said Miranda.
The Go Duster comes with a mini attachment as well, which seemed to work well on our computer.
But it's not until we come to the wooden blinds, that Miranda is won over.
"Dusty blinds
I think it's very good," said Miranda. "Dirty ones, no. Yeah, I think so if you have wooden blinds, it's worth it."
