Does It Really Do That? - CleanBBQ

(KDKA) Summer is just around the corner and one of the biggest staples of the season is breaking out the grill for a cookout.

However, barbequing can leave the grill dirty, creating a big clean-up job after your summer picnic.

One product, CleanBBQ, is promising no more grill clean-up, but does it really do that?

KDKA's Consumer Editor Yvonne Zanos put CleanBBQ, a heavy-duty aluminum foil-like lining for a grill's surface, to the test.

One of our testers says the product is thin just like foil, and the directions say it will fit most standard grills.

But the instructions also have some cautions about the product. They say the liner has sharp edges and also to spray vegetable oil over the product before using it.

For bigger jobs, CleanBBQ says you can use more than one liner, but don't overlap them because the second one dislodges and grease gets on the grill.

The directions say you can easily cut these aluminum grill liners so it is better to piece the liners together.

All in all, the testers gave CleanBBQ a good rating for keeping the grill clean.

But the testers said some of the food burned when it cooked and they tasted the difference.

"Sometimes you can't eat it because it tastes too burnt," says one tester.
