Ailing CMU Professor Testifies Before Congress

(KDKA) TheĀ ailing Carnegie Mellon University professor, whose final lecture has inspired many since he delivered it last year, is testifying before Congress today.

Computer science professor, Randy Pausch, 47, is expected to testify before Congress on behalf of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

The professor, husband and father is dying from pancreatic cancer.

The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network says Pausch's testimony will be in support of the organization's plans to advance research of the disease.

Officials say in order for the research to happen the network is requesting $170 million in federal funding over the next five years.

Back in September, Pausch delivered his last lecture to a hall full of students and colleagues.

The lecture, which was videotaped, was also meant as a message and lesson to his three young children for after he is gone.
