Fire Destroys Condos In Connoquenessing Township

CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP (KDKA) ― A lightning strike from Thursday evening's storms may be responsible for sparking a fire at a Butler County condominium.

The flames started about 10:30 p.m. on Brandywine Boulevard and Springfield Court in Connoquenessing Township when lightning struck one of the buildings.

Officials say the flames spread quickly to two other condos.

"The kids are - they felt bad. Children that age miss their toys and their bed and everything they lost, but that can be replaced," said Margaret Seifert, one of the fire victims. "We have each other, that's all that matters."

Several residents were left homeless by the fire.
